Do you want a Travel Designer who knows Africa? Andrew specialises in travel to; South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya.
My background
My adult life has been devoted to sharing Africa’s wild spaces through lodge-based guiding in South Africa, as well as privately guided expeditions across South and East Africa. I’ve lived in East Africa, training safari guides to deliver extraordinary guest experiences in Tanzania and Kenya’s most iconic wildernesses.
I’ve guided extensively across South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania and explored the vast majority of Safari Africa in my own time. Consequently, I have a deep understanding of the bush and of the industry as a whole. I take a great level of care and attention in understanding the needs of my clients.
On safari, firsts, rarities, babies, old or storied individuals, and at times, death, have the most profound impacts on what we remember; through years of living in the wildest parts of Africa, I have memories of all of these, and can’t wait for more.
My grandfather introduced me to the natural world at a young age, encouraging me to peer through a pair of binoculars at a nondescript little bird. This moment of awe developed into a passion for all things untamed, and led me into a career of guiding and guide training, after navigating a Marketing & Creative degree in Cape Town, South Africa.
I guided for several years in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, leading walking safaris and mentoring other guides. After acquiring my FGASA & in-house national qualifications and experience I moved to &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve to focus on guide training, and leading specialist safaris across Southern and East Africa.
East Africa eventually became my home base, dividing my time between Tanzania and Kenya’s wilderness areas in ‘the home of safari’. With ample time in the field, I was able to pursue my interests in wildlife photography, extensive walking adventures, trail running, scuba diving, and any other activity that would bring me closer to the natural world.
