Wilderness Air

Q: Wilderness Air required information

Taking into account the regulations from Civil Aviation Authorities, as well as legal, safety and operational requirements, the following mandatory information is required to ensure that all guests have a seamless experience when travelling with Wilderness Air: • Passenger name (first name and surname) per passport details • Proof of identification - preferably a copy of the passport. • Date of birth • Passport number • Passport expiry date • Gender

Q: Wilderness Air tickets

On check-in, Wilderness Air will provide all guests with a folder with their relevant circuit’s flight air ticket and routings. Guests need to ensure that these tickets are in their possession at all times as these will need to be presented to the pilot/s prior to boarding.

Q: What are the luggage restrictions?

The number of bags per person is not limited, with the provision that guests conform to the dimensions and types of bags as listed, and together, do not exceed the total permissible weight of 20 kg (44 lb) per person (which includes both check-in luggage and carry-on luggage (handbag, backpack, camera equipment, sleep apnoea machine, etc.) when travelling on seat rates.

Q: Can I pay for extra luggage?

The cost of this additional weight allowance is no longer based on seat rates. It is now a set rate, charged per 20 kg (44 lb), per air transfer sector (costs are subject to change without prior notice and must be confirmed with your Travel Designer.

Q: Why are the dimensions and weight of my bags so strict?

Wilderness Air operates relatively small aircraft in wilderness areas where a number of factors influence the weight limitations of the aircraft: the length and condition of the runway, temperature and weather conditions, accessibility to fuel in these areas, as well as the distances flown.
