“We are delighted to introduce this value-add for our guests staying at one or both camps for a total of four nights, and to announce our partnership with SKIN – a family-owned company that was founded on a farm in Zambia, offering hand-made, nourishing local products using traditional African oils. Aligned to our philosophy, SKIN endeavours to source natural, sustainable ingredients to support local communities and protect the environment”, noted Wilderness Zambezi Operations Manager, Graham Simmonds.
The new Moringa Radiance Facial is a nourishing treatment that benefits all skin types. A gentle cleanse is followed by a lymphatic drainage massage using a radiance balm infused with mango butter and mongongo oil, sourced from mongongo nuts, traditionally used for generations to cleanse and moisturise the skin. An active face mask also aids in replenishing lost moisture.
The Ulendo Hand and Foot Massage is an indulgent treatment that uses a coffee-enriched exfoliation to cleanse the hands and feet, and ground the senses. The massage treatment is followed by the application of a peppermint foot mask and an anti-ageing hand mask. The experience is designed to promote deep relaxation and wellbeing.
The focus on health and wellness extends to the food offering, with wholesome, fresh meals inspired by local Zambian cuisine, often cooked on an open fire and served under the stars, or as an unforgettable bush brunch in the Busanga Plains. The in-camp experience provides the perfect contrast to the adventure that awaits out of camp, in this area famous for its exceptional diversity of wildlife.
“Beyond the traditional concept of wellness, a stay at Wilderness Shumba or Busanga Bush Camp allows guests to immerse themselves in one of Africa’s most remote, untamed wilderness areas and unearth the true meaning of wellness travel, through reconnecting with nature, with their travel companions and with themselves”, added Graham.
