Wilderness King’s Pool newsletter
Wildlife sightings around King’s Pool
During the first two weeks of January, we noticed an increase in hyenas on the eastern side of King’s Pool. There is a clan of more than 13 individuals, whose large number we think is due to the decreasing number of lions in this corner of the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve.

That said, the lioness Malebantle has finally given birth – to three cubs – after we saw her mating with different males.
The Burrow Pit female leopard seems to have extended her territory to the east of King’s Pool too; she is now patrolling up to Audi Lagoon, which was known as the territory of Slender. This is extremely amazing.
King’s Pool camp news
A regularly maintained thatched roof could last for years, and so we found it worthwhile to do some roof repairs before the peak season. King’s Pool is currently operational on the eastern side of the camp, while the western side undergoes this maintenance.
