Mosi-oa-Tunya magic

We wish everyone a happy new year, and are looking forward to a productive 2024 with the many exiting safari sightings we enjoy around Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

We have unforgettable activities that definitely exceed our guests’ expectations – like white rhino tracking, fantastic adrenaline experiences at the Victoria Falls, our Zambezi River boat cruises, and of course not forgetting our traditional cultural experiences.

Weather at Toka Leya

The good rainfall in January helped keep the vegetation lush and green, adding to the beauty of our surroundings. The temperatures were pleasant, with sunny days and cool evenings.

Wildlife around Victoria Falls

The river level increased significantly and our boat cruise was a spectacular activity that guests love – it is so relaxing, and there are great spots to see many different bird species, trees and animals. Elephants crossing the river, as well as hippos, crocodiles, and monitor were all seen in or along the banks of the river, creating an outstanding atmosphere while enjoying sundowners.

Game viewing offered beautiful guest moments, despite the vegetation being quite dense and tall from the rains. In the national park itself, guests enjoyed sightings of giraffes, elephants, zebras, bushbucks, impalas, monkeys, buffalos, wildebeest and many more.

Sometimes we also saw amazing animals in camp, including zebras, bushbucks, warthogs, giraffes and elephants, which was a real highlight and a wow for our guests.

Cultural experiences and wild activities

The Victoria Falls, also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, were in full flow, providing superb sights and so much adventure, adding greatly to our guests’ safari memories.

Rhino tracking nearby offered a top-notch wow experience which guests so appreciated.

Another exciting experience was the local Sinde village tour, truly a wow for guests because of the cultural exchange and interaction with the village residents.

In addition to our Munjile cultural band, we introduced a new band called Muyengo, adding even more flavour to our traditional evenings, with wonderful extra insights into the many cultures we are so proud of in Zambia.

Guest experiences

We took advantage of the great weather in January to provide our guests with glamorous and memorable experiences like out-of-camp camp dining, and sundowners with some snacks to enjoy the beautiful colours of the sunset.

We also set up a fine-dining experience on the sunset drop deck with cocktails and dinner – definitely a wow experience for our guests who really enjoyed it.

One of the highlights when travelling to some places in the world is to know more about the cultures of the area. We have many different groups of travellers who we appreciate sharing our Zambian culture with. It is so encouraging for us as Zambians, seeing guests trying to learn more, especially about our famous Chitenge fabric, its value and the important role it plays for the people in the community.

We had very excellent feedback from guests about all the wow experiences that we offered during their stays.

A truly magical experience. We could have not asked for more, we saw everything and made memories for life. The staff and accommodation were 10 out of 10.
